Acne

SKIN ACNE - Understand what it is. Acne treatment - Skin Care

ACNE CONTROL - Happens once you find what works for you.
ACNE FREE - Is the ultimate goal.

Whether it is facial acne, back acne or acne on your neck, the cause is all the same and a very common beauty complaint among women.

The Four main causes of acne

1) Excess Oil Production

Oil glands also know as sebaceous glands, are located deep in the skin. Attached to these glands are tiny canals which contain a hair(follicles). These glands produce oil that flows to the surface of the skin through the follicles. Hormones also know as androgens, control the oil production of these glands. During time of stress the glands produce increased levels of these hormones which then causes the oil glands to overproduce. DON’T OVER WASH YOUR FACE, stripping away the oils from your skin won’t get rid of skin acne in fact it will just cause more oil production leading to oily skin.

2) Blocked Skin Pores

When the dead surface skin cells have a hard time shedding it makes it very difficult for new skin cells to form. The excess oil makes the dead skin cells stick together, clogging the pores and often causing blackheads or whiteheads.

3) Bacteria

The skins surface has a protective bacteria that keeps the harmful bacteria away. Unfortunely when the oil gets trapped in the follicles the bacteria produces chemicals that changes the composition of the oil making it irritating to the skin.

4) Inflammation

When bacteria settles into the pores it causes inflammation, which results in redness, swelling and infection. This happens because your body is trying to get rid of this unfamiliar substance.

Acne comes in different forms

Mild acne: This refers to the whiteheads or blackheads that most of us get at various times.

Moderately severe acne: which includes red inflamed pimples, red pimples with white centers or as most people would say "a juicy zit".

Severe acne: This causes painful, pus-filled cysts. You defiantly need to go see a dermatologist

How to treat acne.

Many dematologists reccomend that you wash your face with acne skin products twice a day , pat dry and use an appropriate acne treatment look for products that contain benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or retin A.

When choosing cosmetics, look for those that are non comodegenic. These type of cosmetics will prevent your pores from getting clogged thus leading to facial acne.

And no matter how tempted you are, DO NOT TOUCH!!! You will only make it worse just let those pimples be or you will then have to deal with acne scars, and that, is not so easy to get rid of.
